Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan decided to combine
the pleasant (working as a blogger) with the useful (imitating his role as
prime minister), and posted on Facebook a whole list of proposals that Armenia
supposedly sent to Azerbaijan to normalize relations.
There are about 20 points in this new Armenian “dastan,” and
Pashinyan compiled a list—a mix of conditions put forward by Azerbaijan, along
with some vague ramblings of his own. Judge for yourself: on the one hand, he
mentions the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, while on the other, he talks
about some kind of borders between Western Armenia and Western Azerbaijan.
You read it and think: "Pashinyan, what are you talking
about?"
And since when does repeating Azerbaijan's conditions turn
them into "proposals made by Armenia"? Dissolving the Minsk Group and
opening the Zangezur corridor are Baku's conditions, not Yerevan's proposals.
But there’s one funny item on Pashinyan’s list. He suggests
"working out a complete solution to the problem of detained persons."
Pashinyan, are you sure of what you're saying?
What is the problem of detained persons? An exchange? For
whom? There are no Azerbaijanis held in Armenia.
How can this problem be solved? Should we return all the
Armenian war criminals currently in our detention centers to Yerevan? Just like
that, all of them?
Pashinyan, is it too hard to repeat? Just recently, one of
the "detained persons" you’re so concerned about could thank their
savior by taking a place warmed by a crook in a cassock, Bagrat Galstanyan. Is
that what you want, you fool?
