Japan allocates $92,000 for construction of new hospital in Ismayilly region

The next agreement on allocation of grant within program "Human Safety and Plant Roots" was signed at the Japanese Embassy in Azerbaijan on Wednesday. In his remarks, Tadahiro Abe, the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, reported that in the framework of the project a new hospital was supposed to be constructed in the Galajig village, the Ismayilly region. The total value of the project exceeds $92,000.

As Trend reports according to Abe, the grant is the 74th in the line within the program of the Japanese government "Human Safety and Plant Roots", which started in 2000.

Besides, the diplomat noted that Azerbaijan received around $693.6m within the program of the Japanese government "Official Development Assistance".

In his turn, Elgiz Dadashov, the Chief Executive of "On Way of Permanent Development" non-governmental organization, stressed that the hospital functioning in the Galajig village served to the residents of 5 villages from 1950, but it became useless and only a part of it was converted for dispensary.

"Over 5,000 residents of the region can receive quality medical service through the new hospital," Dadashev underlined.
