New opposition group being created in Azerbaijani parliament

He said that the parties "Great Creation", Adalat and the United Azerbaijan Popular Front, included in the electoral bloc Islahat, will be represented in the group.

"The group will express the position of the opposition in the parliament. The main purpose of the group is to increase the role of opposition in the Azerbaijani society, participate in the parliamentary governance, necessary actions when considering the proposals for certain laws to be discussed, and implement constitutional reforms. We will present a draft on constitutional reforms to the Parliament. The country should conduct serious constitutional reforms," Mustafa said.

The parties, united in the electoral bloc Islahat, received three mandates in the elections held in the Azerbaijani Parliament on November 7. Chairman of "Great Creation" Fazil Mustafa, chairman of Adalat Ilyas Ismailov and the United Azerbaijan Popular Front Gudrat Hasanguliyev were elected MPs.
