Azerbaijan, Norway enjoy 'friendly' relations

Azerbaijan and Norway have friendly relationship, visiting Norwegian Minister of Justice and the Police Knut Storberget told Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov.
Storberget said Norwegian companies were successfully operating in Azerbaijan`s non-oil sector, and this contributes to developing bilateral cooperation not in economic but also political and humanitarian spheres.

The Minister also noted the purpose of his visit to Baku was to discuss how to deepen cooperation between Azerbaijani and Norwegian law enforcement bodies.

For his part, Speaker Asadov praised the relationship between Azerbaijan and Norway.

He described the cooperation between the two countries` law enforcement bodies as “fruitful.”

Asadov pointed out the Milli Majlis supports the development of cooperation between law enforcement bodies of the two countries.

Touching upon interparliamentary ties, Asadov called them “insufficient”, saying a working group on cooperation with the Norwegian parliament was established in Milli Majlis, and “we would like the similar step to be taken by your country`s parliament.”

The Speaker also briefed Storberget on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, thanking the Norwegian government for backing
Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
