19 May 2008 [17:06] - TODAY.AZ
A regular session of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan was held today, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
The session participants considered sociopolitical situation in the country and discussed prospects of presidential elections.

The session of the party administration considered the recent amendments and alterations to the Electoral Code, which are to be presented for consideration at a regular session of Milli Medjlis. The party considers that the said draft law has not included amendments or considered requirements of international organizations.

The political structure also voices resentment over the elimination of the NGO Election Monitoring Center.

It also considered the forthcoming 90th anniversary of the Republic. The party calls to mark this date solemnly on a state level, as the memory of the Republic founders have not been perpetuated yet, while their role is invaluable.

The party also considered the recent price hike. The structure thinks it necessary to conduct serious reforms in this direction.
