NAP: Azerbaijani youth does not support subversive ideas in social networks

The Azerbaijani youth, in addition to receiving a qualitative education and holding of useful activities, should also be actively involved in social and political life of our country, Ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmedov said at a meeting with the party’s young activists.

"The NAP, which is the most powerful political force in our country, attaches great importance to this factor. The country’s population has increased by 2 million people over the past 20 years. The figure was 7 million people in the early 1990's and today the figure exceeds 9 million. The youth’ position is strong in terms of demographic point. Naturally, the human factor is the main potential of every society, resources and values of any nation. Azerbaijani youth are talented, and it has an excellent education and owns advanced technologies. That means that we can rely on them in the future. But in addition to this, we would like to see such young people actively engaged in the country’s political life," Ahmedov was quoted as saying by the party’s website.

Ahmedov said the Azerbaijani government carries out important activities for youth development, takes appropriate steps to ensure that youth received a qualitative education, applied their knowledge, skills and their potential.

"The State program is being realized so that our young people received education in the most prestigious universities of the world. I think that these young people upon completing the education would contribute to the development of our state. Today, Azerbaijan rapidly develops and achieves successes in all areas. Young are our future and the future of our country is connected with them," he said.

The Azerbaijani youth is developing at an accelerated pace due to successful policies implemented by President Ilham Aliyev, as well as special attention and care of the state, Ahmedov said. The fact that the youth united around President Aliyev, they try to justify the high level trust afforded to them and make every effort in this direction are the results of the undertaken activities, Ahmedov said.

The number of the party members reaches 530,000 people, 40 percent of them are youth, he added.

A group of young people, controlled by the opposition and associated with external communities, makes calls and put forward blasting ideas in social networks, Ahmedov said.

"I want to unequivocally state that the Azerbaijani youth do not support these ideas. There are many Armenians among those who support such calls. There is no need to argue that such appeals of Armenians, who captured the lands of Azerbaijan, are directed against our country.

Because, Armenians never support ideas that in favor of Azerbaijan. I suggest those young people to call for the liberation of Azerbaijani lands. I appeal to all young people: you can not stay with those young people who make calls that are supported by the Armenians," Ahmedov said.
