Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to UN took part in U.S. TV program

Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Agshin Mehdiyev on Monday took part in the "Contact" programme hosted by a political observer Boris Tenzer on American RTN TV network, says the press release of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations.

Mehdiyev said in an interview that Azerbaijan is cooperating with all international and regional organizations and with all states.

Responding to a question on national minorities in Azerbaijan, Mehdiyev noted that the Azerbaijani and Jewish peoples have always lived in peace and rapport and talked about what Azerbaijani state has done for that.

Agshin Mehdiyev spoke about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani territory and killing of 30 thousand Azerbaijanis as a result of it, about the presence of one million refugees and internally displaced persons in Azerbaijan and their hard living conditions. Also, Permanent Representative spoke about the documents, condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, which were adopted by the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, the Organization of Islamic Conference and other international organizations.

Then, Mehdiyev responded to questions raised by U.S. citizens. Questions focused mostly on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the relations between Azerbaijan and Israel.
