20 October 2009 [09:28] - TODAY.AZ
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appeared on television on Oct. 19 and thereby denied the rumors of his death which were previously spread by some media outlets.
In his first public comment on the recent attacks, Khamenei said the "enemies should know that they cannot harm the unity and solidarity (among Iranians) ... by such a criminal act," ISNA reported.

Earlier, an Iranian opposition disseminated information that 70-year-old religious leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei died on Oct. 14.

The The Daily Telegraph even listed signs of his death. In particular, it was reported that the building of state institutions were in the black drapes and a leading Iranian television began to wear only black.

Later, representatives of the Iranian Embassy in Armenia reported that Khamenei was alive.
