Azerbaijani Islamists not believe Karabakh forum might unite opposition

18 June 2009 [10:20] - TODAY.AZ
The Islam-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan does not believe that the forum planned to be held by the Union for Democracy might unite opposition, said party chairman Tahir Abbasly.
He said opposition uses old methods.

"The forum of opposition has been organized many times, yet no definite results have been attained yet. It should also be reminded that it was our party that spoke for the organization of the Karabakh forum, yet no one paid much attention to it.

What is the reason? The answer is simple, the opposition leaders just do not want to make concessions for their ambitions. If this time the parties do not make concessions, the single cooperation of opposition should not be expected", noted Abbasly.

Notably, the Union for Democracy includes the Classical Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Azadlyg party, People's Party of Azerbaijan (represented by MP Panah Huseyn), Great Azerbaijan Party and National-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan.
