Gudrat Hasanquliyev: "Conduction of a referendum will enliven the political situation in Azerbaijan"

"I supported the initiative of a referendum on introduction of amendments to the Constitution of Azerbaijan in the parliament of our country. Naturally, there are some amendments that I do not agree with but on the whole I support the introduction of these amendments", said chairman of the United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan Gudrat Hasanquliyev.

He said the referendum will enliven the political situation in the region.

"The agenda will include issues of observance of human rights, freedom of speech and economic independence. It is all for the favor of the people", noted he.

As for the intention of the party to join any agitation group, Hasanquliyev said the following:

"We have several variants. In particular, the lawyers confederation is planning to create an association, therefore, we can join it. We have not yet been represented in any of these groups, but this issue will be considered", said Hasanquliyev.
