US to implement large scale program in connection with forthcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan

Ambassador Derse voiced intention to implement a large scale program in Azerbaijan due to the upcoming presidential elections.

"Conduction of free, just and democratic elections is an indicator of democracy in this country and the United States, being a friend to Azerbaijan, are interested in strengthening of democratic institutions in this country", noted the ambassador.

She highly appreciated the enlightenment seminars, organized for subsidiary election commissions and the work carried out to define the election lists.

Mazahir Panakhov voiced satisfaction with the cooperation of the US embassy in Azerbaijan, which is a strategic partner of our country and noted that the opinions of the Presidents of the two countries coincide as to the democratic development issues.

"All steps will be taken for conduction of fair, transparent and democratic presidential elections and the election rights of Azerbaijani citizens will be guaranteed", said Panakhov.
