21 May 2007 [07:46] - TODAY.AZ
My visit to Ganja is a great event, especially this city is a very important historical place, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Huseyn Avni Karsioglu visiting Ganja told journalists after meeting with Turkish students in Ganja.

The ambassador underlined Ganja's historical importance. "As you know Nuru pasha first visited this city. Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was founded here. Starting my visit to the regions from Ganja is very important from this aspect," he said.

"If Turkey immediately applies its experience in the development of entrepreneurship, especially in the sphere of agriculture in Ganja, we will be able to sell fruits and other agricultural products to the world market, Russia, Iran, Turkey and Europe. We talked to Ganja Executive Power Eldar Azizov about this. Following this, we met with University students and exchanged views on extending cooperation in the sphere if culture and education," he said.

Karsioglu also spoke about the cooperation in the sphere of tourism. "I attach great importance to this sphere. Turkish love Azerbaijanis, but do not know Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan and its regions should be recognized. All know Nizami but do not know where he is from and where he is buried. Hotels should be built in order to attract people," he said. APA
