Azerbaijan calls for promotion of defense cooperation with Iran

Jamalov made the remark in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador in Baku Naser Hamidi Zare'.

Referring to remarkable progress made by Iranian defense industry in the past few years, the minister said Baku was willing to utilize Iran's experiences in order to promote the country's defense industry.

Jamalov stressed that Baku has welcomed promotion of bilateral defense ties in forms of exchange of expert delegations.

Zare', for his part, said Iran has reached self-sufficiency in the field of defense industry, thanks to the efforts of its experts.

He expressed the hope that further meetings and negotiations by the two states defense experts and officials would lead to promotion of bilateral defense cooperation. IRNA
