Commissioners for human rights from 12 member-states of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) - Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, Albania, Russian Federation, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia - will gather April 26-27 in Istanbul, Turkey to participate in the international conference The Role of Ombudsperson in Strengthening Democracy organized by the BSEC's Parliamentary Assembly.
Accomplishments of the ombudsman institutes in the field of human rights, difficulties and problems they face during related activities, the role of ombudspersons in strengthening democratic processes as well as in building legal state and civil society are issues included in the event's agenda.
Elmira Suleymanova, the Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan, will represent the country at the conference, AzerTAg reports.
