All the right conditions are in place for around three million tourists a year to be welcomed in Azerbaijan over the next five years.
This was reported to Trend on Wednesday by the head of Azerbaijani Tourism Association Nakhid Bagirov.
Around two million visitors arrived in Azerbaijan in 2012. Currently the annual rate of tourist flow to the country doesn't amount to the previous 10 per cent anymore. These indicators have to rise so conditions for tourists have to be created, he said.
He noted the surge of interest to Azerbaijan occurs mostly from its neighbours, the Post-Soviet countries.
More than 500 hotels and hotel-type establishments are functioning in the country with the construction 40 more in progress, Bagirov said.
