No Georgian citizen has suffered from a landslide during the Georgian-Armenian border, Georgian ambassador to Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili told journalists.
However, he said, Georgian citizens have suffered damages, as the landslide swept part of their cars away to ravine.
"They all managed to leave their cars, but their documents remained in the cars. At present, rescuers are trying to get the documents out of the ravine, along with fragments of cars," he said.
Section of Armenia-Georgia interstate highway was closed due to landslide on Sunday night and fall of rock. As the Armenian government told "Interfax", the landslide occurred on the 86th kilometer of Vanadzor - Bagratashen section of interstate highway M6.
"An operative headquarters was created by Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan's decision. The Emergency Situations Ministry's employees were sent to the scene. Measures are taken to assist affected passengers," the Armenian government said.
Some 21 cars, including trucks are under the landslide.
Landslide still continues.
