Turkish MP: Unification of Turkic peoples is great geopolitical significance

Armenian side does not stop armed provocations on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops. What will Turkey’s policy be in case of resumption of war in Karabakh?

Turkey’s policy is absolutely open in this issue. Armenia is an occupier country from the standpoint of international law,. This has been stated by UN, OSCE, NATO and many international organizations on many occasions. Almost all international organizations have called on Armenia to withdraw from the occupied Azerbaijani lands. That is, Armenia is in opposition to international law. If Armenia decides to continue its aggressive policy, Turkey will stand by Azerbaijan, of course. It should be noted that Turkey has repeatedly urged Armenia to withdrew from the occupied territories. Against this background, Armenia’s continuing its aggressive policy will cause a severe reaction in Turkey.

This is a pure lie. Turkey closed the border after Armenia occupied the territory of another country. The occupation has not been terminated, respectively border with Armenia would not be opened. That's it. Speaking to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Turkey's Prime Minister said that Ankara will not open border with Armenia until Armenian forces pull out from occupied territories. However, some forces try to speculate this topic with an attempt to spoil relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
 
Recently, Turkey has successfully hosted summit of Turkic-speaking countries, where it was decided to continue formation of common Turkic organizations. In your opinion, what kind of problems Turkic world should solve jointly first of all?

The process of unification of the Turkic world is a process of huge importance. There are politicians who for years dreamed of a time when leaders of the Turkic-speaking countries will come together and made joint decisions and leaders of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey will come together to discuss the solution of global problems. The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries will start work very soon, which is of great geopolitical significance. What is worth mentioning, is that the more intense is convergence of Turkic-speaking countries, the more there will be provocation and attempts to derail the process of Turkic integration. We must remember that the 21 st century will be the century of the Turkic peoples.

A mass was held in an Armenian church in Akdamar Island after overhaul. What message did Turkey send to world by this move?

The Turks have always respected faith of other nations. For example, in Azerbaijan, people of different faiths can freely perform their religious rituals. Turkey expressed goodwill and restored Akdamar church. By the way, the Armenians enjoy full freedom of religion in Turkey. At the same time, it was made clear for Armenia that Yerevan in on a wrong path, causing problems with neighboring countries. Armenia is urged to end the occupation of captured territories, stop clogging the minds of the younger generation with hatred and hostility towards neighbors and live with neighbors in peace.
