Azerbaijani First Lady elected honorary member of Trustees Board of famous Alexandria Library

Egyptian First Lady Suzanne Mubarak sent a letter to Azerbaijani First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva, AzerTac state news agency reported.

Suzanne Mubarak is Chairperson of Board of Trustees of the famous Library of Alexandria, Egypt. She said that Mehriban Aliyeva was elected honorary member of the Board of Trustees by unanimous decision of members of the Council.

The Board of Trustees of the Library of Alexandria includes the most authoritative scholars and prominent political figures of the world, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

The Library of Alexandria is a distinctive organization having an international mandate. The library, founded by Egyptian law, is out of the competence of the government and assigned directly to the President. Providing a library with such unprecedented autonomy is based on the broad powers of the Board of Trustees.

Egyptian First Lady Suzanne Mubarak expressed confidence that the high intelligence and experience of Mehriban Aliyeva will help to resolve many issues. She said that she will be pleased with her visit to the library.
