The Baku Olympic Stadium, the venue for COP29, has officially been handed over to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, Azernews reports.
This marks the conclusion of an important operational phase in the lead-up to the climate summit, which will take place from November 11-22.
The Blue Zone, a key area of the event, will host all official sessions, meetings, and press conferences, and is exclusively accessible to accredited participants. The zone features 39 pedestrian checkpoints, 35 registration desks, and 132 delegation offices, as well as numerous catering facilities.
Additionally, special transport arrangements, including buses operating between transport hubs and the venue, will ensure smooth logistics for delegates. An online Digital Transport Map has also been launched to help guests plan their journey to the event.
