Preliminary court proceeding on case of president of Barmek Azerbaijan Electricity Distribution LLC Huseyn Arabul and seven more company officials, who are accused of abuse of power, embezzlement and negligence of court judgements, was again postponed.

As one of the lawyers Fazil Mammadov did not attend the court proceeding, the preliminary trial was fixed to April 2, APA reports.

The defendants are Barmek high-ranking officers Omar Guner Ismayil, Vefa Agayev, Mahir Novruzov, Chingiz Ibadov, Vaaleh Zeynalov, Chingiz Abdullayev, Esger Esgerzadeh.

Huseyn Arabul faced charges on Article 179.3.2 (embezzlement), 308.2 (abuse of power) and 313 and banned from leaving the country.

Department to Combat Corruption under General Prosecutor's Office investigated the criminal case launched on Articles 179.3.2, 306.2, 308.2 and 313 against high ranking Barmek officials.

According to the investment program, the company should have invested $51million within first five years.

Notably low investment was made on account of Barmek consumers. The investigation shows that Barmek LLC officers misappropriated AZN9, 143,940.

Barmek high-ranking officers Omar Guner Ismayil, Vefa Agayev, Mahir Novruzov, Chingiz Ibadov, Vaaleh Zeynalov, Chingiz Abdullayev, Esger Esgerzadeh were held accountable on articles 179.3.2, 308.2 and 313 of the Criminal Code and arrested. Huseyn Arabul and Omer Guner are at bail.
