Community Glossary project for Microsoft Windows Vista and Microsoft Office in Azeri continues to progress

Elmir Velizadeh, chair of information recourses and technologies department of the Office of the President of Azerbaijan, the Project Moderator of this glossary project, said that all words remained open for suggestions from November 1 until early December.

The preliminary version of the glossary drawn up by Sinam Ltd. was reviewed by Communications and Information Technologies Minister and Linguistics Institute.

In total, the working group received suggestions to 581 words. 68 disputable words were discussed by inquiry. The working group received 44 suggestions from Baku State University, 35 from Azerbaijan Technical University and 14 from Oil Academy. The working group made 254 corrections to 2051 words.

Velizadeh said that translation of 16 words such as save, play and mouse are under discussion today.

The glossary has been prepared within an agreement between Microsoft Azerbaijan and Sinam Ltd., APA informs.
