Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov receives US Ambassador

As APA reports, Minister Mammadov reminded the partnership relations between the two states, and called recent successful completion of the construction of the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline as a graphic example to these relations.

Ms.Derse said the United States considers Azerbaijan as friendly state and is ready for every support for its development and integration into the world community.

The Ambassador also stressed American businessmen show interest in Azerbaijan expressing her intention to reinforce different relations, including commercial relations between the two states.

She also noted economic reforms are great support for political reforms underlining Azerbaijani potential to become a regional center in business and several other fields and was interested in the reforms carried out in tax service of Azerbaijan in this context.

Minister Mammadov informed about the current reforms in tax service, adoption of Code of Tax, reorganization of tax administration as well as organization of tax control in Azerbaijan.

He said significant measures have been taken in making tax service meet international standards in the past several years. Mammadov talked about establishment of service system for tax payers, simplification of tax account, decreasing of number and rates of taxes, automation of all processes in tax system as well as application of transparency procedures in this field.

The sides also exchanged views on establishing of free economic zones, anti-corruption measures and several other issues.
