G20: US must take 'urgent' action in fiscal crisis

Finance ministers of the world's most important advanced and emerging economies called Friday for a prompt resolution of the ongoing US political stalemate over budget and debt issues, dpa reported.

"The US needs to take urgent action to address short-term fiscal uncertainties," the Group of 20 countries said in a joint statement from Washington, where they met on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund-World Bank annual meetings.
