Turkish, Georgian FMs hold meeting

Turkey`s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davudoglu has paid an official visit to Georgia.
The Turkish has already held meeting with Georgian counterpart Grigol Vashadze and discussed development of bilateral relations.

"Georgian and Turkey have exemplary cooperation both on regional and global levels," Ahmet Davudoglu announced at the joint briefing after the meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister today.

The two ministers also voiced the decision taken at the closed meeting that the two countries have agreed to grow economic cooperation into the process of economic integration. Under the agreement, the sides will launch special working groups which would have permanent contacts with foreign ministries of both sides.

The groups will work to intensify economic relations.

Davudoglu also touched the conflicts in the Caucasus and said that Turkey was eager to see these conflicts solved. Therefore, Turkey`s authorities realize that no stability is possible without peace in the region.

Davudoglu said Turkey has been intensively involved in the process of conflict resolution in Abkhazia and the process would continue.

Within the official visit Turkey`s foreign minister will meet Georgian Prime Minister and parliament speaker as well.

The Turkish foreign minister will also deliver a speech at the conference of the Diplomatic Corps of Georgia.

On Sept. 8, Turkey's foreign minister will meet Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili.
