Restart of U.S.-Russia relations not to take place at expense of Ukraine: vice president

“I came to Kiev with a message and I want everybody to understand me in a right way."
The United States is loyal to its wish for democratic, prosperous and strong Ukraine. We believe that your success will be our success”, said U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden at the joint conference with Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko in Kiev.

He said the restart of the U.S.-Russia relations will not take place at the expense of Ukraine, on the contrary, substantial U.S.-Russia relations will have positive impact on the Russia’s relations with its neighbors.

Biden said the U.S. will support Ukraine’s striving for NATO.

Yushchenko said he invited U.S. President Barack Obama to official visit to Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership.
