Sides prepare for breakthrough in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement: French co-chairman

08 May 2009 [08:55] - TODAY.AZ
The sides are preparing for a breakthrough in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said French co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group Bernard Fassier.
"We are preparing for a breakthrough, but we are not yet through, Fassier briefed the media in Prague, We are making progress, and expect to relay the agreements reached in the following weeks."

During the EU summit Eastern Partnership in Prague, Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia held meetings in the U.S. Embassy and discussed the issue on resolution of Nagorno-Krabakh conflict.

Today's meeting on the highest level was the 4th meeting between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia Ilham Aliyev and Serzh Sargsyan on resolution to Karabakh conflict. The previous meeting was held in Zurich on Jan. 28, 2009. The first meeting was held in St.Petersburg in June and second in Moscow in November 2008.

It's absolutely inaccurate to say that there is no progress, he said.

"At these meetings, we hope to be able to confirm some progresses, based on what the ministers agreed on today," said Fassier.
