On Wednesday the Union for Democracy arranged a round table on the "Mass deportation of Azerbaijan from present-day Armenia - West Azerbaijan".

According to Day.Az, the round table was attended by leaders of the parties, functioning in Azerbaijan, NGO representatives, intellectuals and a group of deported compatriots.
According to chairman of the Classical Front Party Mirmahmood Miralioghlu, after signing the Gulistan and Turkmenchay treaties Armenians launched mass deportation of Azerbaijanis.
"Initially Armenia was supported by Tsarist Russia and then the USSR government in this policy. The peak of the policy became the inhumane actions of Armenians against Azerbaijanis, which they carried owing to Russia, in 1988-1992.
In turn, international organizations instead of taking due measures against Armenia, close eyes on everything and hold a policy of double standards", noted he.
The round table participants demand restoration of the right of Azerbaijanis, deported from Armenia, call on the government to take definite actions to return the Azerbaijani lands, create a center of deportation and raise this issue in the international courts.
It should be noted that the Union for Democracy comprises the Azadlyg party, Classical Popular Front Party, Popular Party of Azerbaijan (represented by deputy Panah Huseyn), Great Azerbaijan party and National-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan.
