Elmar Mammadyarov: "Nagorno Karabakh problem should be settled in three stages"

According to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the visit of the co-chairs will last till May 25, and the official Baku intends to share its principal, permanent position on settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh problem.

As Mamedyarov said, "Azerbaijan is striving for establishing fair and stable peace in the region, so it prefers a stage-by-stage way of Karabakh conflict settlement. At the first stage, the Armenian armed forced should leave occupied territories around Nagorno Karabakh, where we shall immediately settle back our internally displaced persons. At the second stage, Azerbaijani inhabitants of Shusha and other settlements in Nagorno Karabakh, who had to leave their homes in 1988-92, should return. Only after that we can consider the issue of the Nagorno Karabakh status."
