AGO group to visit Baku

An "Ago" Monitoring group of the Committee of Ministers of the CE led by the Head of the representation of Germany in Strasbourg Wegener will visit Azerbaijan on June 30 – 1 July 1, the Office of the special representative of the CE General Secretary in Azerbaijan, told Trend.
Earlier scheduled for 2-4 June the visit was postponed due to busy schedule of the group members.

The purpose of the visit of "Ago" group is to familiarize with the course of fulfillment by Azerbaijan of obligations before the CE, state of human rights and preparations for the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.

The delegation plans to hold meetings at the President’s Administration, Milli Majlis [parliament], the Justice Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, opposition and law-defense organizations. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is expected to receive the AGO group.
