Heyki Talvitye held press conference within results of Baku visit

The main topic of the meetings was the approach of EU towards South Caucasus region. European guest got interested in the democratic processes in Azerbaijan, preparation to parliamentary elections. He expressed his hope parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be free, democratic and transparent.

Diplomat talking about the essence of "New neighborhood policy" of EU said that talks will begin between Azerbaijan and the organization he represents in March. This project considers the cooperation with South Caucasus in the field of economy and security. According to Talvitye, main purpose of EU is to integrate economical market of Azerbaijan into European economical market, to help the country in the matters of internal and external security.

The guest stated that development in Azerbaijan is not as in Europe and financial aid will be made to Azerbaijan and added that, Armenia and Georgia will be made more financial aid "because their economy is weaker, they don't have projects like BTC". H.Talvitiye touching the matter of Upper Karabakh stated that, EU supports attempts done for the solution of the problem in peaceful way. He said: "EU will directly participate in rehabilitation after peace is achieved". /APA/
