Mobile communication cheapens 30% in first half-year in Azerbaijan

During first half-year of 2011, mobile phone services cheapened 30%, roaming services – 20-50% in Azerbaijan, minister of communications and IT Ali Abbasov said at the meeting devoted to outcomes of social-economic development of Q1-2011of the Cabinet of Ministers held under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev.

To him, now the price of mobile phone services is on the same level as in the Eastern Europe.

The minister said that currently, there are approximately 105 mobile phones per 100 people in Azerbaijan, and it is 30% more than the world average indicator and is on the same level as in developed countries.
