Real and Atleti to final battle through peace

Real Madrid and Atlético battled to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, meaning it is all to play for ahead of Friday's return match at the Calderón.

Real forged ahead in the 81st minute through James Rodríguez's first goal for the club, a deflected effort from close range following a bit of pinball in the Atleti box.

The 'Rojiblancos' drew level seven minutes later thanks to Raúl García's clever far-post flick following an inswinging corner that evaded everyone at the near post.

The second instalment of the competition between league champions Atlético and Copa del Rey winners Real is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. (8:30 GMT) at the Calderón this coming Friday, 22nd August.
