Tender announced for opening Culture TV in Azerbaijan

A tender has been announced in Azerbaijan to open TV channel which will specialize at cultural programs, the National Council for Television and Radio said. Reportedly, the decision was made at a meeting of the National Council.

The realities of broadcasting were discussed at the meeting. It was noted, that most TV programs are entertaining. TV channels strive for cheap rating. The number of intellectual programs has declined considerably. The importance of TV channel dedicated to education, world culture, history, geography, national values of Azerbaijan was stressed. According to the decision, the contest has been announced to create TV channel "Culture" in the territory of Baku and Absheron at a frequency of 44 August 4-September 4.
