MP Aydyn Gasanov: "Adoption of a law "On alternative service" in Azerbaijan will be possible only after occupied lands are released"

"Considering the fact that 20% of Azerbaijani lands are under occupation, over 1,000,000 people turned into refugees and internally displaced persons, adoption of the law "On alternative service" is inexpedient".

The due announcement was made by MP Aydyn Gasanov during  a press conference on the law "On alternative service", Day.Az reports.

He said the adoption of the law in Azerbaijan will be possible following the release of the occupied lands.

"The law "On alternative service" can be applied in conditions of peace, while we live in the wartime. If we apply the law in the current conditions, the influence of military and patriotic educational work on the young generation can be reduced to zero", the deputy noted.

According to him, Russia adopted a law "On alternative service" but his application has been terminated.

"Application of the law in war time may lead to mass evasion of army service", the deputy noted.
