03 December 2011 [12:28] - TODAY.AZ
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will visit Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Dec. 3 at his home in Istanbul where he is convalescing after surgery on his digestive system.

Biden was scheduled to come to the house in Uskudar at around 1:30 p.m., according to Prime Ministry sources, becoming one of the few people who have been allowed to visit Erdogan since his operation on Nov. 26.

The two had been originally scheduled to hold talks in Ankara before together attending the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Istanbul.

With Erdogan unable to attend, his deputy Ali Babacan will replace him at the event.
Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek visited Erdogan on Dec. 2 as heavy security measures remained in place at the vicinity.

Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arınç has said Erdogan wishes to return to Ankara on Dec. 5 to chair the weekly cabinet meeting, but sources from the Prime Minister’s Office said the final decision would be up to doctors.
