4.9 magnitude earthquake rocks NE Iran

An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the northeastern city of Mojen early Friday, IRNA reported.

According to Tehran University’s Geophysics Institute, the earthquake happened at about 3:00 a.m. local time on Friday morning.

There were no reports of casualties or damages to the building by the earthquake at the time of publishing the news.

Mojen is a city in Semnan province and is located 25 kilometers from Sharoud and near the provincial border with Golestan province.
