Georgian President discusses economic cooperation with U.S. official

Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili discussed economic cooperation between Georgia and the United States at the meeting with Jose W. Fernandez, Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs yesterday.

Mr. Fernandez paid official visit to Georgia with the working group of Georgia-U.S. Strategic Partnership Charter.

The sides discussed the prospects of economic development of Georgia and the role of the U.S. assistance in this process.

Mr. Fernandez said at the meeting with the president that specific points of the charter would facilitate development of strategic relations between the two states.

Within the visit, Georgian and the U.S. officials signed an agreement, according to which U.S. will allocate 122 millions to Georgia for the development of the energy sector.
