Iran’s supreme leader goes under surgery

08 September 2014 [11:35] - TODAY.AZ
The Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei underwent a surgery, following problems with prostate, Iran's IRIB News Agency reported on September 8.

Prior to arriving in the hospital, Khamenei said that there is no need for the nation to worry.

"There is no reason to worry. This, of course, doesn't mean that I don't need people to pray for me, but God willing, there is no point to worry as it is a normal operation," he noted.

"God willing everything will go on well," Ayatollah Khamenei said before the operation.

The operation - reportedly successful - was carried out in one of government's hospitals in Tehran.
