'Tehran, Ankara complementary to each other'

27 April 2012 [12:18] - TODAY.AZ
The Iranian ambassador to Turkey says while some countries are plotting to portray Tehran and Istanbul as rivals, the two countries “complement each other” in the region.

“The friendly relations between Iran and Turkey have incited the envy of some people and countries; and some are trying to create sedition in the relations between the two countries,” Bahman Hosseinpour said on Wednesday, IRNA reported.

Referring to the recent visit by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Iran, Hosseinpour said, “I dare say that this was Erdogan’s most successful visit to Iran.”

“The bilateral ties between the two countries are currently at their highest level and these relations … are on the rise,” he added.
