'Azerbaijan,China have historical and friendly relations'

Azerbaijan`s newly-appointed ambassador to China Latif Gandilov has presented his credentials to President of the People`s Republic of China Hu Jintao. During the conversation, Hu Jintao said Azerbaijan and China had historical and friendly relations.

The Chinese President added friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries were steady developing after Azerbaijan`s regaining its independence. Hu Jintao underlined Azerbaijan and China enjoy close bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The Chinese President congratulated Azerbaijan on election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2012-2013 years. Latif Gandilov conveyed President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings and best regards to the Chinese leader.

On behalf of the Azerbaijani President, the diplomat expressed gratitude to China for the support in Azerbaijan`s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2012-2013.

Gandilov underlined Azerbaijan had always supported the One-China policy. Hu Jintao asked the ambassador to pass on his greetings to President Ilham Aliyev. The Chinese President thanked Azerbaijan as it backs the One-China policy. He underscored China had always supported Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Latif Gandilov thanked China for the fair stance on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
