An informal meeting of CIS heads of state will take place on the 20th anniversary of the Commonwealth and will be held in Moscow on Dec.20, the CIS Executive Committee's official website reported.
The CIS was established in late 1991 after the Soviet Union collapsed in the wake of the global geopolitical changes. The Commonwealth contributed to addressing complex problems associated with the collapse of the USSR and to the formation of independent states as well as the preservation and further development of the historical ties of the post-Soviet space programme.
