Azerbaijani President holds a range of meetings - UPDATE- PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received yesterday governor of Izmir Province of Turkey Mustafa Cahit Kirac and his accompanying delegation.

The governor said the ongoing construction works in Baku made great impression on members of the Turkish delegation. He said Baku was becoming one of the most beautiful cities of the world under the leadership of the Azerbaijani President. The governor noted the event held in Izmir with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev was very important for his country as well as the province.

President Ilham Aliyev said Baku and Izmir were sister cities, adding great opportunities existed to develop these relations even more. The Head of State recalled his visit to Izmir with great pleasure. The Azerbaijani leader expressed hope that Mustafa Cahit Kirac`s visit to Baku would contribute to developing this relationship.

IlhamPresident of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava. Ugulava conveyed greetings to the Head of State from the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili. Mr. Ugulava pointed out he witnessed rapid development in Azerbaijan during the visit.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed great attention is paid to rebuilding work in the country and major restoration of historic buildings preserving their original look.  The Head of State asked the Mayor to pass on his greetings to the Georgian President.
