Director of “The Millenium” project to speak at Center for Strategic Studies

Director of “The Millennium" project Jerome C. Glenn will make a presentation at Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic in Baku on Friday. Representatives and experts of the center, the staff of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Society of Futurologists will attend the lecture.

Jerome C. Glenn is co-founder and Director of The Millennium Project. He is known for inventing of the Futures wheel technique, TransInstitutions, tele-nations, conscious-technology, and is cited as an expert on Future studies methodology by RAND Corporation.

Jerome C. Glenn has 35 years experience in futures research with governments, corporations, and international organizations. He has keynoted over 200 organizations around the world and written over 100 articles on the future.He was the deputy director of PfP International, involved in micro-enterprise in 26 developing countries and founded CARINET the Third World computer network in 1983.

The Millennium Project is an independent international think tank with 40[2] "nodes" around the world that gathers and accesses information on futures studies that produces the annual State of the Future report since 1997 and the Futures Research Methodology series Versions 1-3.

The Project was formed by the Futures Group International, , the Smithsonian Institution via a three year feasibility study in 1992 funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, United Nations Development Programme, and UNESCO. Since the beginning of operations in 1996, about 2,700 futurists, scholars, decision-makers, and business planners from over 50 countries have contributed with their views to the Millennium Project research.

The Project now has nodes in 38 countries and 2 others are global/functional nodes: Cyber Node and the Arts/Media Node. These are independent organizations (composed of both organizations and individuals from different institutional categories - government, corporations, NGOs, universities, individuals, and UN or international organizations - which acts like a transinstitution) which co-operate with each other and the Project to provide an international perspective on futures research.
