Azerbaijani PM meets with EC Vice-President

Azerbaijan`s prime minister Artur Rasizade has met Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner for Transport Siim Kallas yesterday.

Kallas congratulated the Azerbaijani Premier on Azerbaijan`s win in Eurovision song contest and the country`s election to the UN Security Council, saying it testified to the country`s growing international image.

They praised Azerbaijan`s integration into the world community and the country`s cooperation with the European Union.They also praised Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring Europe`s energy security.

They pointed out there were good opportunities to expand the Azerbaijan-EU relations in both energy and non-oil sectors. They described Kallas` visit as a good opportunity to launch talks on the Common Airspace project. The Azeri Premier and the European Commission`s Vice President also discussed socio-political situation in the region, in particular the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
