
Several documents were adopted at the first meeting of the Commission on International Relations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries held in Baku.
The representatives of TurkPA member countries – Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan attended the meeting.
Mmeber of the Kyrgyzstan’s delegation Valihan Konurbayev said that nowadays the relations between TurkPA member countries are at high level and developing: “The member countries must combat the terrorism in the world and work jointly for solution of this problem”.
Konurbayev added that Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan had to think of participation in TurkPA, at the same time if the parliaments of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan want, they can be invited to the TurkPA. In his opinion, TurkPA must strengthen relations with the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
Commission’s Chairman Ahliman Amiraslanov underlined the necessity of single alphabet of the Turkic-Speaking countries and formation of joint language.
Then the issues included to the meeting’s agenda were put to vote and adopted. According to the decision, Turkish MP Ulker Guzel was appointed commission’s rapporteur in TurkPA’s plenary meeting. The decisions were passed on increase of TurkPA’s activity in the international arena, as well as the holding of the next meeting of commission in Kazakhstan in 2012.
