Azerbaijani parliament ratifies intergovernmental conventions, agreements and protocols

The ratification of intergovernmental documents signed with several countries was on agenda during the first meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament today.

The parliament ratified the Joint Declaration by Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine on future development of strategic partnership relations, Plan of Measures of comprehensive cooperation for 2011-2015 between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ukraine, Joint Action Plan for implementation of strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Romania, the agreement on mutual recognition of education certificates and diplomas between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus, the agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Belarus to allocate plots of lands for the diplomatic missions, the agreement between Azerbaijan and Spain about visa-free travel for the persons having diplomatic passports, Azerbaijan-Greece agreement on sea transport, Azerbaijan-UAE agreement on customs cooperation and mutual assistance, agreement between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic on exchange and security of secret information, Azerbaijan-Serbia agreement on emergency cooperation, Azerbaijan-Serbia agreement on customs cooperation and mutual assistance, Azerbaijan-Serbia agreement on promotion and security of investments, Azerbaijan-Slovenia Convention and Protocol on elimination of double tax and prevention of tax evasion.

Informing the parliament about the Azerbaijan-Belarus agreement on recognition of education certificates and diplomas, chairman of the parliamentary committee on sciences and education Shamsaddin Hajiyev said that according to this agreement, the diplomas and education certificates giving to both Belarus and Azerbaijani citizens during the USSR period are recognized in both countries. The diplomas of medical and pharmacological institutes are also recognized in both countries.
