A secondary school in Astrakhan, Russia will be named after Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev. A joint decision to name the school No. 11 in the city center after Azerbaijan`s national leader was taken by the Astrakhan Mayor`s Office and regional Committee for Education and Science.
The joint statement says the school was redeveloped to modern standards and received new building and additional blocks. A monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev was erected in Astrakhan`s largest park adjacent to state-of-the-art resort.
The ”Baku-Friendship” bridge linking the resort with the Peter the First park on the Volga bank will be constructed until the end of the year. The bridge will shorten pupils` travel time to the Heydar Aliyev school.
School No. 11 is model school not only in Astrakhan and the region but also in whole Russia.
