“Evidently Kazan meeting was not successful. It was one of the numerous meetings.
The process is continued, but it is needed to settle the conflict. I hope that the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders will take necessary measures for achievement of agreement on the basic principles and start work on the details of the conflict’s settlement”, Director of the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center, former US ambassador to Azerbaijan and Russia Ross Wilson said.
He said that the leaders of two countries can win a credit of trust from their people settling this conflict: “One needs to do it in the near future, but, certainly, it is very difficult work”.
Commenting on the question whether the crash of the Azerbaijani plane in Afghanistan will influence the security of conveyance of NATO’s cargo, Wilson said:
“The incident is a tragedy. I don’t think that this incident will influence the conveyance of cargo to Afghanistan. We will continue conducting active work with Afghanistan as well as sending cargo to his country. I am sure that US will highly assess Azerbaijan’s cooperation in this issue.
