"Attempts to interfere in Azerbaijan's affairs made under guise of religion"

Sometimes, some countries try to interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan under the guise of religion, Institute of History Deputy Director, MP Yagub Mahmudov said today.

He added that Islam's sacred values ​​must be protected in Azerbaijan and the international arena.

"It is a pity that unfair attacks on Islam often occur in a globalizing world," he said. "Islam is for alive, rather than the dead. The idea that Islam is linked only to the funeral must be eradicated."

Mullah certification in the southern regions is a good step, he said.
