Individual Partnership Action Plan between Azerbaijan and NATO likely to be confirmed in the short run

The third stage of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between Azerbaijan and NATO will likely be confirmed in the short run, the sources in the Azerbaijani government said.

The meeting of the sides concerning the discussion of the third stage is expected to take place late in August or early in September. Unlike the previous stages there will be a number of additions in the new phase.

Though the confirmation of the third stage of the IPAP had been planned for April, the issue proposed by Azerbaijan “use of other methods – use of force – in the solution of territorial integrity” caused NATO’s discontent. This is the major theme among the issues discussed between the sides.

The implementation of the plan will start after confirmation.
